Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish Could Shake Up the Music Industry!

The two pop icons took the stage together at Wicked | A Conversation with Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande at the DGA Theater Complex in Hollywood on Tuesday, Feb. 4. During the event, Eilish, 23, interviewed Grande about her role as Glinda in the highly anticipated musical film. However, fans erupted with excitement when Eilish accidentally said she had “a few more songs” instead of “a few more questions” for Grande.

Realizing her slip-up, the Birds of a Feather singer laughed and corrected herself, telling the audience, “OK, a few more songs, and then… Songs? Did I say songs?”

The unexpected comment sent the crowd into a frenzy, with fans shouting for the duo to perform together.

“Oh my God, I meant questions. I’m on tour, you guys,” Eilish explained. “I’m used to saying that. Sorry. Whoa, OK, OK, OK, two questions.”

Grande seemed open to the idea of a musical collaboration.

“We really do need to do that,” she said, as the crowd erupted with cheers and begged for a duet.

“We’re good. She’s taking care of her voice,” Grande reassured the audience, supporting Eilish’s vocal rest during her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour. “We’re both resting for now.”

Eilish agreed, adding, “That’s true. But I really do want to do that.”

“Me too,” Grande responded enthusiastically.

Playing along with the crowd’s excitement, Eilish teased, “Guys! OK, sing. But also, I don’t know. I’m not really supposed to be doing this kind of thing.”

“This is my favorite version of it. I’m crying,” Grande replied.

Eilish also revealed she has been a longtime fan of Grande, sharing that her childhood YouTube channel featured several tributes to the Side to Side singer.

“There are so many videos where I commented, ‘God, I just love Ariana so much,’” Eilish recalled. “And I used to call you ‘Ari’ when talking to my brother. He’d be like, ‘Don’t call her Ari. You don’t even know her.’”

Grande, touched by the story, responded, “That makes me so really excited.”

Although she started as a pop star, Grande has expressed her intention to shift her focus toward theater and acting in the future.

“I’m about to say something that will probably terrify my fans—but I love them, and they’ll be fine. We’ll always be here,” she shared on the Las Culturistas podcast in November 2024. “I’ll always make music, perform, and stay connected to pop, I pinky promise. But I don’t see myself continuing at the same pace I have for the past decade over the next ten years.”
