Camila Cabello can’t seem to escape memories of her infamous “quismois” moment.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24, the “June Gloom” artist shared a TikTok responding to a question about her 2021 White House performance, which sparked viral attention due to how she pronounced the word “Christmas” during a song.

The on-screen prompt asked why she says “Christmas” the way she does. Lip-syncing to an audio clip filled with laughter, Cabello, now 28, jokingly responded that while people may find it amusing, the situation feels serious to her.

She captioned the clip — filmed in front of a decorated Christmas tree — by saying that December is a particularly sensitive time for her.

This wasn’t the first time the singer revisited the moment. In 2022, Cabello leaned into the jokes by posting a humorous video where she played the role of her own vocal coach, carefully emphasizing the pronunciation of “Christmas” while singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” She then attempted the lyric herself.

After changing outfits and trying again, she repeatedly slipped back into saying “quismois.” Eventually, she gave up with a laugh and said it would turn out fine anyway.

She captioned that post by joking about her mindset before recording her version of the holiday classic. Her cover of the song — originally made famous by Bing Crosby in 1943 — was released on streaming platforms around the same time.

Cabello later completed her YOURS, C TOUR in September, which supported her most recent album, C,XOXO.

Since wrapping the tour, the “Havana” singer has largely stepped away from the spotlight. Earlier this month, she explained on Instagram that she had gone quiet online as part of a digital detox.

She shared that deleting most social media and news apps — aside from Letterboxd — helped her reset. According to Cabello, the break allowed her to reconnect with reading and films and stop filling every quiet moment with content.

Although the adjustment was difficult at first, she said the experience has brought her more mental clarity and creative space, something she hopes to carry into making new music next year. She ended her message by telling fans she misses them and hopes they’re doing well.
