The Bloomberg Billionaires Index has recognized Selena Gomez as one of the youngest self-made female billionaires in the U.S.

Selena Gomez has officially joined the billionaire club. At 32, the singer, actress, and entrepreneur has a net worth of $1.3 billion, as reported by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This achievement makes her one of the youngest female self-made billionaires in the U.S. A significant portion of her fortune—over 81%—comes from her thriving Rare Beauty cosmetics line, according to the report.
According to the report, Gomez’s additional major income sources, ranked from most to least significant, include endorsements, touring, her mental health startup Wondermind, music albums, acting, streaming, and real estate.
Since making her television debut on Barney & Friends as a child, Selena Gomez has appeared in numerous shows, such as Wizards of Waverly Place and Only Murders in the Building. She has also acted in films like Spring Breakers, Hotel Transylvania, and the forthcoming Emilia Pérez.
As a musician, Selena Gomez has achieved three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and several top-5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Good for You” featuring A$AP Rocky, “Same Old Love,” “Lose You to Love Me,” and “Calm Down” with Rema.
Gomez’s Rare Beauty, launched in September 2020, has exceeded $400 million in net sales as of March, according to The Business of Fashion. Despite speculation in May that she might sell the brand, Gomez denied the rumors, telling Time, “I genuinely don’t have any plans for that.”
Gomez also shared with the outlet her efforts to avoid fixating on the brand’s financial success. “I have this strange feeling that if I focus too much on the numbers, I’ll lose what made Rare Beauty special in the first place,” she explained.
The “My Mind & Me” singer emphasized, “I never intended for it to be solely about making a lot of money.”
