Adele made a rare public outing nearly a year after finishing her Las Vegas residency.
The 37-year-old “Easy on Me” singer closed out her Sin City shows on November 24, 2024, and has largely stayed out of the public eye since then—appearing only a few times at NBA games alongside her partner, Rich Paul, in February and April.
This past weekend, however, Adele was spotted in Travis County, Texas, attending the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. During the event, she stopped by the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s pit area and took a photo with drivers George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
The team later posted the snapshot on Instagram with the simple caption, “Iconic,” tagging the award-winning artist.
Adele was photographed looking effortlessly stylish in an all-black outfit, featuring a tailored jacket with a cinched waist and wide-legged trousers. She accessorized with sunglasses that kept her hair swept back. In the photo, Formula One racer Andrea Kimi Antonelli wrapped an arm around her waist as she smiled alongside him and fellow driver George Russell.
Fans were quick to react in the comments. One admirer gushed, “Woah, diva met divaa??” while another pointed out Russell’s excitement, writing, “George looks like a pure fanboy. Happy for him. 😂”
Adele launched her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas in 2022, officially concluding it in November 2024. During her final performance, she grew emotional as she hinted at taking an extended break from performing.
“I will miss you terribly. I don’t know when I’ll perform again,” she confessed to the crowd. “I’m not doing anything else. I’m actually terrified about what I’m going to do next. I don’t have any plans.”
Still, Adele reassured fans that this wasn’t a goodbye: “Of course, I’ll be back. Singing is the one thing I know I’m good at. I just don’t know when I’ll want to be on stage again—but I love you.”
She also revealed that her decision to do a residency rather than a tour was driven by motherhood, wanting to maintain stability for her 13-year-old son, Angelo.
“To my son, I chose to do a residency because I absolutely hate touring,” she said. “But I wanted to keep his life as normal as possible—and I did that. I get to spend weekends with him now since he can’t always come with me. I love you so much. Thank you for being patient with me.”
After her final show, Adele reflected on the journey in an emotional Instagram post:
“Well, what an adventure! Las Vegas, you’ve been so good to me. This residency mirrored what 30 was about—lost and broken to healed and thriving. Seems so fitting in the end. These 100 shows have been such a joy; each one felt different because I really connected with everyone in the room. I’ve loved every second and will miss it—and all of you—terribly. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you next time 🪐”
Adele’s most recent album, 30, was released in 2021. In a July 2024 interview with German outlet ZDF, she revealed that she plans to take a significant break before returning with new material.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she said. “I want a big break after this, and I think I want to try other creative things for a while.”
While she admitted that fame has its challenges, Adele also acknowledged its rewards, saying, “I love that I get to make music all the time.”
