The holiday classic from the pop superstar recently marked its ninth anniversary just last week.
Ariana Grande is immersing herself in the festive atmosphere, ushering in the most joyful season of the year. This Tuesday, the 30-year-old pop sensation embraced the holiday spirit as she commemorated the anniversary of her beloved Christmas classic, “Santa Tell Me.” Just a few days after the nine-year milestone of the 2014 hit on November 24, the Grammy winner posted a compilation of behind-the-scenes clips from the heartwarming music video on TikTok. The footage captures moments of Ariana and her friends joyfully celebrating the holidays in a cozy home setting.
In the delightful and festive clips, the singer of “Thank U Next” joyfully moved around the set to the lively pop tune, adorned with reindeer antlers and a snug Christmas sweater.
Additionally, she shared glimpses of the enjoyable moments she and her backup dancers experienced while filming scenes nestled under covers and dancing in bed. Dressed in snowflake pajamas and adorned with fuzzy, faux fur hats featuring paws, they’re captured giggling and reveling in the atmosphere, creating a vibe reminiscent of a large slumber party. Even amid the fun, Grande takes a moment to adjust her eye makeup.
In the caption, she infused a bit of festive cheer and nostalgia, expressing, “tis the season! ♡ Santa Tell Me ♡ almost ten years ago,” accompanied by two teary-eyed emojis.
The singer of “Positions” initially dropped “Santa Tell Me” as a single on Nov. 24, 2014, with its endearing, homemade-style music video following a few weeks later in December. The video, complete with bloopers at the end, adds to its charm. Over the years, the song has evolved into a modern Christmas classic, making a notable return to the Billboard Hot 100 chart towards the conclusion of 2022.
The cherished fan-favorite from 2014 isn’t the sole seasonal present that Grande has bestowed upon her fans. Throughout the years, she has gifted them with a collection of original holiday songs and covers.
Even prior to the release of “Santa Tell Me,” the singer-songwriter unveiled her inaugural holiday EP in 2013, titled Christmas Kiss. This four-track project included covers of Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby” and Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” along with original compositions “Love Is Everything” and “Snow in California.”
She continued spreading holiday cheer in 2015 with the release of Christmas & Chill, featuring six brand-new holiday songs.
Recognized by fans as the Princess of Christmas, the Sweetener artist has even collaborated with the Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey. In Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, the 2020 Apple TV+ holiday event, the two pop icons, along with Jennifer Hudson, joined forces to perform the festive tune “Oh Santa!” together.
