Benson Boone Heats Up 2025 AMAs with Fiery Performance and Bold Fashion Choice

Benson Boone brought serious energy to the 2025 American Music Awards.

The 22-year-old pop sensation took the stage on May 26 to perform his track “Mystical Magical” from his upcoming album American Heart. His outfit for the night was as striking as his performance—Boone wore a vivid purple patterned suit featuring a cropped jacket and flared trousers, styled with a white shirt, a matching belt, sleek white boots, and David Yurman accessories.

Boone is a top contender this year, landing five AMA nominations including New Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Pop Artist, and three nods for his hit “Beautiful Things” in the Song of the Year, Favorite Pop Song, and Favorite Music Video categories.

These nominations mark a milestone in Boone’s breakout year. After the release of “Beautiful Things” in January 2024, he dropped his debut album Rollerblades & Fireworks in April. The album’s massive success led to a Grammy nomination and major live appearances, including opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London and performing at Coachella.

He joins a lineup of six genre-spanning artists performing at this year’s AMAs, alongside names like Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Gloria Estefan, Lainey Wilson, and Reneé Rapp.

Known for his unique sense of fashion, Boone’s memorable Grammy moment—when Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser theatrically revealed a glittering jumpsuit under his suit—sparked even more buzz. The ensemble was so iconic that Mark Zuckerberg later wore the same jumpsuit in a surprise birthday performance for his wife, Priscilla Chan.

Boone’s AMA performance also nodded to that viral moment, as he cheekily adjusted his snug stage outfit mid-performance, later joking on Instagram about its tight fit. Zuckerberg echoed the humor with a video of himself in the jumpsuit, commenting on its “snug” nature.

Beyond the music and style, the AMAs also paid tribute to veterans. Held on Memorial Day, the show partnered with the Easy Day Foundation, a Las Vegas nonprofit that supports military veterans transitioning to civilian life. The event featured heartfelt tributes and fundraising efforts to benefit both national and local veteran-focused organizations.
