The esteemed Beyoncé, aged 41, is poised to receive an honorary mayorship in Santa Clara, California. As part of the event, she will also be presented with a symbolic key to the city. This occasion coincides with her upcoming Renaissance Tour performance at Levi’s Stadium on Wednesday, as reported by The Mercury News.
According to the publication, the Santa Clara City Council is set to convene on Tuesday evening to formally transfer the mayoral title from Mayor Lisa Gillmor to the renowned superstar for the duration of a day.
“The upcoming visit of Beyoncé to the renowned Levi’s Stadium has stirred excitement within the city of Santa Clara,” stated Michelle Templeton, a spokesperson for Santa Clara. She added in a statement to the publication, “Her concerts are bound to infuse the area with remarkable energy and enthusiasm.”
The proclamation that acknowledges the accomplishments of the singer of “Break My Soul” highlighted her profound cultural influence as one of the most notable figures in pop culture. It also made mention of her impressive achievements, including her collection of 35 Grammy Awards, along with her commendable philanthropic endeavors, as reported by The Mercury News.
This year hasn’t marked the first instance in which Santa Clara has paid tribute to a visiting pop sensation. During the dates of July 28 and 29, when Taylor Swift graced the city with her Eras Tour, the city council similarly extended the honorary mayoral title to her and temporarily rebranded the locale as “Swiftie Clara” for those two days.
Cities such as Atlanta and Minneapolis have also implemented their own versions of “Beyoncé Day,” according to The Mercury News.
The commencement of the Renaissance World Tour, led by the performer of “Formation,” took place on May 12 in Stockholm, Sweden. Following the conclusion of the European leg by late June and early July, Beyoncé embarked on the North American segment of the tour, which will continue until late September.
With the Grammy-winning artist’s birthday falling within this month and coinciding with Virgo season, which aligns with her zodiac sign, she recently divulged her desire for celebrating with fans attending her concerts.
The artist known for “Cuff It,” turning 42 on September 4, recently conveyed a request on Instagram. She encouraged her fans to wear attire adorned with sparkles to her shows, stating, “Virgo season is upon us.
