Charli XCX says she may leave the music industry to pursue a different career.

The singer revealed during a podcast with Quenlin Blackwell that she is considering stepping away from music to focus more on acting.
Charli XCX recently opened up about what her future might look like, and it may not center on music.
The 33-year-old singer appeared on an episode of Feeding Starving Celebrities hosted by Quenlin Blackwell on Feb. 22, where they discussed the direction of her career. During the conversation, Blackwell asked whether she planned to pursue more acting roles. Charli responded with excitement, saying she would love to focus on acting and even joked that she might step away from making music altogether.
Blackwell noted that the artist had already achieved major milestones, including her 2024 album Brat, which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. She also acknowledged that Charli has spent many years building her career in the music industry.
In response, Charli hinted that after accomplishing so much in music, she is curious about what other creative opportunities might be waiting for her.
The conversation later shifted to the creative projects the two friends would love to work on someday.
Charli XCX shared that she once joked on TikTok about creating her own version of a stylish horror film inspired by Final Destination. In the video posted in May 2025, the “365” singer suggested several potential cast members, including Rachel Sennott, Alex Consani, Gabbriette, Romy Mars, Quenlin Blackwell, and herself. She told Blackwell that she even mentioned her in the idea, describing a concept where the group would play glamorous “it-girls” who meet dramatic and bizarre fates throughout the film.
Charli has already begun exploring acting. She portrayed a fictionalized version of herself in The Moment, a mockumentary directed by Aidan Zamiri that follows her during the release of her album Brat. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 22 and featured a cast including Rosanna Arquette, Jamie Demetriou, Kate Berlant, and Alexander Skarsgård, along with a cameo by Kylie Jenner.
While speaking at the festival in Utah, Charli joked that she hopes she isn’t as difficult in real life as the version of herself portrayed in the film, though she admitted her actual managers in the audience might know the truth.
Looking ahead, she is also set to appear in I Want Your Sex, directed by Gregg Araki, alongside Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman. In addition, she will take part in a horror project titled Faces of Death.
Beyond acting, Charli has also contributed to film through music. She oversaw the soundtrack for the 2026 adaptation of Wuthering Heights starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, which features the track “Chains of Love.”
