Charlie Puth Calls Off Concert, Explains He Was Too Ill to Take the Stage

Just a few hours before the scheduled performance, the singer-songwriter called off the Florida leg of his Whatever’s Clever! tour.
Florida fans will need to be patient before seeing Charlie Puth perform again.
On June 6, the 34-year-old singer-songwriter announced that he would not be able to proceed with his scheduled concert in Orlando due to health issues.
In a message shared on his Instagram Stories, Puth expressed his disappointment over the decision. He explained that he had been unwell for several days and had been advised by medical professionals to rest in order to avoid jeopardizing additional dates on his tour.
He emphasized how much performing for his fans means to him and said that audiences deserve his best effort every night. However, because his illness had affected his voice, he felt incapable of delivering the quality performance his fans expected. Although canceling the show was difficult, he apologized and expressed hope that he would return once he had recovered.
Shortly afterward, Addition Financial Arena announced that the Orlando stop of the Whatever’s Clever! tour would not be rescheduled. Ticket holders were advised to contact their original ticket vendors to obtain refunds.
Puth is currently expected to resume the tour on June 9 with a performance at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville.
The cancellation comes months after the artist discussed personal changes he has made in recent years. During an interview with Rolling Stone in January, he revealed that he no longer drinks alcohol because he believes it negatively affects his decision-making.
Reflecting on his past, Puth said that distancing himself from unhealthy influences and behaviors brought a significant shift in his life. He described reaching a turning point at age 30 in New York City, when he stopped pretending to be someone he wasn’t and began living more authentically.
