Pink is set to kick off Broadway’s biggest evening with style and energy.
The Grammy-winning pop icon has been selected to host the 2026 Tony Awards, bringing her dynamic stage presence and years of live performance expertise to the prestigious theater celebration.
The ceremony, which recognizes outstanding productions from the 2025–2026 Broadway season, will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 7, from the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The event will include musical numbers from nominated shows and appearances by some of the biggest names in theater.
In a statement, Pink—born Alecia Moore—shared her excitement, calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime honor” to celebrate what she described as the hardest-working people in the entertainment industry. She also expressed how Broadway has influenced her own performances, praising the community for being welcoming, diverse, and full of passion and talent. She added that theater artists create something magical every day, and she looks forward to honoring them on a global stage.
This will mark Pink’s debut as a host for a major awards show. She follows in the footsteps of past Tony Awards hosts who have successfully crossed between film, television, and theater, including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana DeBose, and Hugh Jackman.
Pink, widely recognized for her powerful voice and high-flying, acrobatic performances, recently got a taste of hosting when she stepped in as a guest host on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March.
During her appearance on the daytime program, she spoke about her growing love for Broadway, sharing that she had relocated to New York City to support her teenage daughter Willow’s interest in theater.
She humorously recalled that when she was invited to host the Tony Awards, her first instinct was to check with her daughter. Pink joked that since she has never performed on Broadway herself, it might seem more appropriate for someone with stage experience to take on the role. However, Willow was thrilled—especially at the chance to attend the event—prompting Pink to accept the opportunity, even as she admitted feeling both excited and a bit nervous, teasing that her daughter can be a tough critic.
Pink shares Willow, who will turn 15 on June 2, and her 9-year-old son Jameson with her husband, Carey Hart.
Since then, the “So What” hitmaker has become more involved in the Broadway scene, often attending shows alongside Willow. The pair even performed a duet of “Hopeless War” from The Outsiders during her guest-hosting stint on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
One of Pink’s own tracks, F**kin’ Perfect, is also featured in the Broadway production & Juliet, which showcases songs written by hitmaker Max Martin.
The Tony Awards ceremony will air from 8 to 11 p.m. EST on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ in the United States.
Organized by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, the Tony Awards are widely regarded as the highest honor in theater. They recognize excellence across various fields such as acting, directing, and design, and are also part of the prestigious EGOT—alongside the Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar—which represents the top achievements across television, music, film, and theater.
