Taylor Swift Set to Return to the CMA Awards in 2026 After a Decade Away: “I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW”

Swift’s chart-topping track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” has earned a nomination for Single of the Year.
Taylor Swift has confirmed that she will attend the 2026 CMA Awards, ending a decade-long absence from the country music ceremony.
The singer revealed the news through an Instagram Stories update on Thursday, Sept. 10, saying she plans to be part of Country Music’s Biggest Night when the event takes place on Nov. 18. Her return will mark her first CMA Awards appearance since 2016.
“LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!! See you there Nov. 18 🤠,” Swift, 36, shared in her post.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner is also in the running for Single of the Year with her song “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The track was written by Swift for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack and was produced by Jack Antonoff, with Laura Sisk serving as engineer.
Swift also reposted the CMA Awards and ABC announcement confirming her nomination alongside her message.
Her upcoming return comes 10 years after her most recent appearance at the ceremony. In 2016, Swift took the stage to present Garth Brooks with the Entertainer of the Year honor. She previously received that award herself in 2009 and 2011, while earning nominations for the category in 2012 and 2013.
Swift has accumulated 12 CMA Awards throughout her career. Among her early achievements was the 2007 Horizon Award, an honor now recognized as the New Artist of the Year Award. If she takes home the Single of the Year trophy this year, her CMA collection will grow to 13.
The competition for Single of the Year is strong. Swift faces Ella Langley’s “Be Her” and “Choosin’ Texas,” Lainey Wilson’s “Somewhere Over Laredo,” and Cody Johnson’s “The Fall.”
The CMA nomination arrives shortly after “I Knew It, I Knew You” climbed to the top spot on U.S. country radio. The achievement marks Swift’s first No. 1 on the country radio chart in 13 years.
It also adds another milestone to her country music career, becoming her 13th No. 1 song as a solo artist on U.S. country radio and her 14th overall.
