Todrick Hall Shares One of His Favorite Taylor Swift Tracks — and It Doesn’t Come from Her Reputation or Lover Eras

The performer and former collaborator of Taylor Swift shared that one of his favorite songs comes from her 2014 album 1989.
Todrick Hall is opening up about one of his top favorite songs by Taylor Swift — and it’s not from the era many might assume.
The multi-talented singer, dancer, and choreographer — who previously worked with Swift during her Reputation and Lover periods — spoke exclusively with People magazine at the opening night of Cats: The Jellicle Ball in New York City on April 7.
During their conversation, Hall, 41, was asked if he had a favorite Swift era. Instead of choosing one of the more recent phases, he pointed to a track from her 2014 1989 album.
“One of my favorites is ‘Style,’” he shared.
He went on to explain that the song’s opening guitar instantly brings back memories for him. He praised the track for its strong songwriting and creativity, adding that he admires how Swift crafts vivid stories through both her music and lyrics.
Although “Style” was released in 2014, it came years before Hall and Swift officially collaborated. Hall later appeared as a backup dancer in the “Look What You Made Me Do” video from the Reputation album (2017) and also worked as co-executive producer on the “You Need to Calm Down” video from 2019’s Lover.
At the time, Swift spoke highly of Hall in behind-the-scenes footage, describing him as incredibly generous with his time and effort. She noted that he contributed significantly to many aspects of the video, including casting, creative ideas, styling, and logistics, even joking that he was responsible for organizing much of the production. She ultimately invited him to serve as co-executive producer through a handwritten note.
Looking ahead, Hall shared that he remains interested in more stage work. He mentioned that one of his favorite musicals is Aida, featuring music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, which debuted on Broadway in 2000. He added that he would love the opportunity to be part of a revival if the show returns to Broadway in the future.
