Britney Spears Deactivates Instagram Following Concerning Posts and Dispute Over Kevin Federline’s Memoir
Britney Spears has once again stepped back from social media, deleting her Instagram account after posting a string of unsettling updates and amid renewed public tension with her ex-husband Kevin Federline regarding his forthcoming memoir.
As of Sunday, November 2, Spears’ Instagram page had disappeared from the platform, showing a message that the “profile may have been removed.”
In recent weeks, followers had expressed growing concern after the 43-year-old singer shared a series of living room dance clips with comments disabled. The posts often included cryptic captions referencing her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
Earlier, on October 7, Spears uploaded a video showing bruises on her arms and bandages wrapped around her hands and wrists. In the caption, she said she had fallen down stairs and reflected on her two sons returning to Hawaii, where they live with Federline, 47.
“My boys had to leave and go back to Maui,” she wrote, before explaining the emotional outlet her dancing provides. “This is the way I express myself and pray through art … father who art in heaven … I’m not here for concern or pity, I just want to be a good woman and be better … and I do have wonderful support, so have a brilliant day !!!”
She later added, “Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house … it was horrible. It snaps out now and then, not sure if it’s broken but for now it’s snapped in !!! Thank u god.”
On October 19, the pop icon shared another post that appeared to touch on her four-month stay in rehab back in 2018 while under her 13-year conservatorship. In the caption, she wrote that she believed “brain damage happened to me,” reflecting on the long-term effects of that period.
Accompanying a photo of herself horseback riding, Spears compared her shoulder blades to “wings,” drawing parallels to the film Maleficent. “Remember the king tried to kill her but instead a guy secretly took her wings,” she wrote, continuing with a reflection about divine love and protection. “Her wings were holy so the king couldn’t take them … not that this has any relevance with me but I do find it incredibly interesting.”
The Grammy winner also mentioned a “traumatic experience” described in her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me, writing that for four months she was “illegally forced to not use my feet or body to go anywhere.”
Meanwhile, in Federline’s upcoming book You Thought You Knew, the former dancer reportedly makes several claims about Spears, their marriage, and her parenting. Excerpts published by outlets including The New York Times, USA Today, and E! Online feature allegations of infidelity, erratic behavior, and concerns for her wellbeing.
Spears responded on October 15 via X (formerly Twitter), accusing Federline of “constantly gaslighting” her and defending her bond with their children. “To be loved unconditionally and with a naive heart like mine, always being threatened or made to believe I’m the bad one as they profit off my pain…” she wrote. “Oh dear Jesus show me there is a God and I can too be loved unconditionally and not have to be so perfect cause it’s really interesting.”
She also criticized his recent interviews, claiming he was “literally attacking” her publicly. “Why is HE SO ANGRY,” she wrote. “And what’s scary is he’s convincing. It literally blows my mind the moments he stops before he cries … are you f—ing serious …”
