The rising star of 2024 unveiled her favorite music of the year, highlighting a hit from 1977 as her most-listened-to song, along with her top artists.
As listeners everywhere debate the reliability of their Spotify Wrapped summaries and parents face the reality that their playlists were largely influenced by their kids, Chappell Roan is joyfully embracing her year-end recap.
The breakout star revealed her top track with a nostalgic twist, sharing on Instagram, “top song was barracuda ofc,” referring to Heart’s iconic 1977 hit. Roan, 26, posted the update on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Roan paired her post with a striking throwback photo of herself next to a camo-covered car adorned with bull horns on the grille—an image that perfectly complemented the aesthetic of Heart’s original “Barracuda” release, a song Roan has also performed live in the past.
Alongside Heart’s iconic track, Roan unveiled her top artists of the year, with Ariana Grande taking the No. 1 spot, followed by Charli XCX, Heart, Justice, and Kacey Musgraves.
Roan wasn’t alone in sharing unexpected Spotify Wrapped results. Lil Nas X revealed that his “He Knows” collaborator, Camila Cabello, ranked as his top artist of 2024, while Tove Lo highlighted her remix of Kylie Minogue’s 2003 hit “Slow” as her most-played song of the year.
In an Instagram Stories update, Addison Rae revealed her top five Spotify Wrapped artists: Madonna, Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, Britney Spears, and, fittingly, herself.
Olivia Rodrigo also joined in on the Wrapped fun, sharing that her music taste aligned with many U.S. listeners this year—her most-played track was Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”
