Christina Aguilera Reveals She’s ‘Obsessed’ with Sabrina Carpenter as They Hint at a Future Collaboration.

Aguilera is preparing to release fresh live renditions of songs from her 1999 debut album in celebration of its 25th anniversary, featuring collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly.

In anticipation of their upcoming collaboration, the two artists teamed up for a playful social media video on Sept. 18. The “Espresso” singer, 25, humorously referred to the Grammy winner, 43, as her “mom.”
The video shows them sitting on a couch with a band in the background, as Carpenter lip-syncs to an audio clip of Kylie Jenner—who has previously dressed up as Aguilera for Halloween—talking about her mother, Kris Jenner. “I’m obsessed with my mom,” says Kylie in the clip.
In the audio clip, someone asks, “So, you’re saying you’re her favorite?” Carpenter then turns the camera to Aguilera.
“That’s exactly what I’m saying,” the audio of Jenner continues, as both singers smile and laugh. “I’m her favorite. We actually have a relationship like she has no other kids. Yeah.”
Aguilera posted the video with the caption, “Obsessed.”
This moment follows Aguilera’s announcement that she’ll be marking the 25th anniversary of her 1999 self-titled debut album with newly recorded live versions of select songs as part of the Spotify Anniversaries series, set to release on Sept. 23.
According to Rolling Stone, both Sabrina Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly will join Aguilera for duets on separate tracks, and she will also share behind-the-scenes stories about the album’s creation.
“I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that connects the past and present,” Aguilera told Rolling Stone on Sept. 18.
The “Ain’t No Other Man” singer continued, “I’ve always loved reinventing my songs with various styles and for different audiences, as well as experimenting with sounds and arrangements that highlight the timeless nature of all music.”
