The artist known for ‘Views’ proudly displayed his recent tattoo on Saturday evening following the release of his latest EP.

Drake has expanded his facial tattoo collection, incorporating a new addition above his right eyebrow. The 37-year-old rapper recently unveiled this ink featuring an Arabic expression, “miskeen.” The presence of the tattoo was initially noted on Saturday by HipHopDX, with photographer Brent Kore sharing an image of the artist’s new ink on Instagram.

The term “miskeen” holds significance within Toronto’s Somali community, Drake’s hometown. According to reports from NOW Toronto and the Daily Sentinel, the phrase can be interpreted in two ways. On one hand, it can be used to describe someone as “poor” or “pathetic.” On the other hand, it can characterize an individual as “sweet” or “innocent.” NOW Toronto further notes that residents of Toronto are likely familiar with the latter connotation of the phrase.

As of now, Drake has not shared a photo on his personal Instagram or officially acknowledged the significance of the tattoo.

This isn’t the first facial tattoo for the “Hotline Bling” rapper. In the previous summer, he inked his mother Sandra Gale’s initials beneath his left eye.

Prior to acquiring his recent tattoo, the rapper known as the “Rich Baby Daddy” dropped an unexpected EP titled “Scary Hours 3” on November 17. Drake shared the announcement of this follow-up to his 2021 EP, “Scary Hours 2,” through a post on Instagram.

In the voiceover of the announcement video, Drake expressed, “You know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced since [2015’s] If You’re Reading This [It’s Too Late], where it’s just kind of like I feel like I’m on drugs.”

He further remarked, “I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. Who am I to fight it?”
