Ed Sheeran showcased his latest single, “Azizam,” drawing a large underground crowd in New York City during a special segment for The Tonight Show.

The 34-year-old Grammy-winning artist went undercover in gothic attire to join Jimmy Fallon for a surprise subway performance in New York City, featured in an April 8 segment on The Tonight Show.
The video kicks off with Sheeran and Fallon, 50, introducing their fake band “Frat Poison” before diving into a cover of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.” Dressed in black outfits, complete with wigs, piercings, and sunglasses, the duo channeled the emo vibes of early 2000s bands like My Chemical Romance.
As the crowd grew, Ed Sheeran strummed his guitar while Jimmy Fallon kept the rhythm with a tambourine. The atmosphere reached a peak when Fallon revealed their true identities, exclaiming, “I’m Jimmy Fallon. This is Ed Sheeran right now!”
With the disguises removed, Sheeran kicked off a heartfelt performance of his latest single, “Azizam,” which dropped on April 4.
“I wanna be nowhere but here with you now / I wanna be one in this space / I wanna be tangled and wrapped in your cloud / I wanna be close to your face,” he sang, while Fallon joyfully danced along, tambourine in hand.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Ed Sheeran shared that his upcoming five albums will follow a theme, much like his previous math-inspired releases.
His next album is titled Play. Sheeran explained that when he was 18, he envisioned a 10-album concept: starting with Plus, Multiply, Divide, Subtract, and Equals, and continuing with Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop.
