“We don’t have to prove anything to anyone,” Bieber shared in a bold, all-caps Instagram Stories post following growing concern from fans.
Justin Bieber recently posted an ambiguous yet uplifting message on social media, addressing fans’ concerns about his well-being.
On Saturday, March 8, the 31-year-old Grammy-winning artist shared the mysterious note on his Instagram Stories. The message, written in all caps and set against a plain white background, carried a positive tone.
“We have nothing to prove today,” Bieber’s post began, accompanied by Stevie Wonder’s 1976 track “Sir Duke.”
“Just the gift of life today to accept and [receive],” he added. “Nothing is owed to us and we [don’t] owe anyone anything ♥️.”
Justin Bieber, who welcomed his son Jack Blues with wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber in August, recently faced speculation about his health and rumors of drug use after fans noticed changes in his appearance and behavior in February.
On February 23, TMZ published a statement from a member of the couple’s team dismissing the rumors. The representative clarified that the claims about Bieber’s health and alleged drug use were false. They explained that the past year had been a period of significant change for the singer, during which he ended several personal and professional relationships that were no longer beneficial.
The source added that Bieber is currently focused on supporting Hailey, 28, and their son Jack, while prioritizing his health and artistic pursuits. They condemned the false rumors as “exhausting and pitiful,” noting that some people seem determined to spread harmful narratives despite the truth.
A spokesperson for Bieber declined to provide additional comments to PEOPLE at the time.
Justin Bieber previously shared another introspective and cryptic message on Instagram Stories, also styled in a similar format, reflecting on change and insecurities.
In his February 20 post, set to John Mayer’s cover of Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’,” Bieber wrote, “It’s time to grow up! Changing is about letting go! Not trying harder! Are you tired of trying to follow all of the rules in hopes to get the results you create?”
He went on to reflect on his personal experiences, revealing that he’s found love to be more powerful than strict rules. “I tried to follow the rules. I’m not good at it. But you don’t need to follow rules to enter into a life of love. U just receive,” he shared. “So enter love living! God always grants us love! It’s one of his promises!”
Bieber continued, “Upon receiving God’s love! U start to change and start following love. You don’t work to mature! You let go to mature!” He concluded by sharing that he was giving his insecurities and fears to God, trusting that God would carry those burdens. “Today I’m letting go and remembering the weight isn’t on me to change. The weight is on God. So I give all my insecurities and fears to him this morning because I know he gladly takes it. Asking Jesus to genuinely help me with simply the next step today,” he wrote.
