During her Lifetimes Tour stop at London’s O2 Arena on October 13, Katy Perry, 40, took time to share a heartfelt moment backstage with nine children bravely facing serious illnesses, as shown in footage from ITV’s This Morning.
Dressed in bright, cheerful outfits, the kids eagerly awaited the pop star’s arrival. Perry soon appeared, greeting them warmly and taking a few minutes to learn each child’s name, age, and interests before posing for photos and cheering them on ahead of her performance that night.
Among the group was 9-year-old Florrie Bark, whose charity, Bemorefab, helps raise funds for children battling cancer — a cause close to her own journey. Florrie’s mother, Stacy, reflected on the experience, saying it gave the children “a day where they could forget about treatments and just enjoy being themselves,” adding that it was a memory they would treasure forever.
Since 2018, Perry has continued to give back through her nonprofit organization, the Firework Foundation, which creates uplifting opportunities for young fans. One of its signature initiatives, Camp Firework, offers middle schoolers a multi-day retreat designed to inspire creativity and confidence through the arts.
Perry launched her Lifetimes Tour in April with an opening show in Mexico City to celebrate her latest album, 143. The tour has since taken her across the United States, Canada, and Australia, and now she’s performing for audiences around the world.
Her popularity remains sky-high — four upcoming shows in China this November sold out within a minute, and when an additional Shanghai date was added, tickets vanished just as quickly. Originally planning a single performance in Paris, Perry added two more dates after overwhelming fan demand, with all three shows selling out.
Her South American leg of the tour marked another milestone, featuring three sold-out stadium performances — a first in her career.
