Kelly Clarkson Sells Part of Her Music Catalog, Calls It a Meaningful Move for Her Legacy
Kelly Clarkson has joined the growing list of artists choosing to sell a portion of their music catalogs.
The 43-year-old Grammy-winning singer and TV host reached an agreement with HarbourView Equity Partners, a firm that specializes in diverse investment strategies, to sell part of her musical catalog, as announced on Thursday, July 24.
Although specific financial details were not revealed, Clarkson expressed her personal connection to the deal.
“My music represents a significant part of both my personal and professional life,” Clarkson shared in a statement. “It means the world to me that these songs will continue to be heard and cherished by future generations. I truly appreciate HarbourView for recognizing the value of this catalog and supporting it wholeheartedly.”
The catalog includes several of her most iconic hits such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and the holiday favorite “Underneath the Tree.”
Sherrese Clarke, HarbourView’s Founder and CEO, praised Clarkson’s influence: “Kelly Clarkson is a truly unique artist whose voice and songwriting have had a lasting impact on music and pop culture. Beyond her talents as a musician, she is a dynamic figure in entertainment, which fits perfectly with HarbourView’s investment approach across the broader entertainment landscape.”
Clarke described Clarkson’s catalog as “a collection of powerful anthems that have shaped meaningful moments for millions.”
“We’re excited to collaborate with Kelly and help ensure her music continues to inspire audiences for many years to come,” Clarke added.
Since winning the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, Clarkson has achieved remarkable success, selling over 25 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide. Her accolades include 17 singles that have earned multi-Platinum, Platinum, or Gold certifications, along with numerous American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and eight Daytime Emmy Awards for hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Additionally, Clarkson will return as a judge on The Voice for its 29th season, which premieres in spring 2026. She’ll be joining fellow judges John Legend and Adam Levine, as part of a revamped version of the popular singing competition.
Earlier this month, Clarkson began her second Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. However, she had to cancel two performances, including her July 4 opening night, to protect her vocal health.
