The two artists had previously worked together on a track titled “Snow on the Beach,” featured on Swift’s earlier album called ‘Midnights’.

Lana Del Rey expressed her admiration for her friend Taylor Swift’s recent album during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the Met Gala red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 6. The “Video Games” singer mentioned that her favorite song from Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department” was “‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?'” although she wasn’t entirely certain of the exact title. Del Rey, 38, described the album, which was released on April 19, as “beautiful.”

On “The Tortured Poets Department,” Taylor Swift, aged 34, penned the tenth track titled “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” It’s one of five songs solely written by Swift on the 31-song Anthology edition of the album. In this song, the Grammy winner playfully addresses and satirizes the public’s perception of her as a celebrity.

At the 2024 Met Gala, Lana Del Rey donned a custom outfit by Alexander McQueen’s Seán McGirr, paying homage to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme with inspiration from an archival Alexander McQueen look from the fall 2006 collection, as reported by Vogue.

Del Rey and Swift previously collaborated on “Snow on the Beach” from Swift’s album “Midnights,” released in 2022. They attended the 2024 Grammy Awards together in February, where Swift acknowledged Del Rey specifically while accepting the album of the year award.

During a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, musician and producer Jack Antonoff discussed the “magic” of working with both Swift and Del Rey, highlighting their unique creative synergy.
