Megan Thee Stallion expressed her profound admiration for Beyoncé, stating, “Beyoncé is my ultimate role model. I truly and wholeheartedly love her.” This statement came after their joint performance in their shared hometown of Houston.
Megan Thee Stallion has openly admitted to being quite emotional at times, especially when it concerns Beyoncé. Over the weekend, Megan, aged 28, surprised fans by joining Beyoncé on stage during her Renaissance World Tour, which took place in their hometown of Houston.
This marked the first live performance of their collaborative track “Savage (Remix),” initially released on Megan’s EP “Suga” in March 2020. Their remix earned them Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
Following their joint performance on Saturday, Megan shared a TikTok video that included behind-the-scenes clips of her getting ready for the stage and moments where she described herself as “ugly crying.”
In the voiceover, Megan shares, “Hello everyone, it’s Megan Thee Stallion, also known as the hot girl coach! And let me tell you, I’ll never stop talking about this because I had the incredible opportunity to perform with Beyoncé! I can’t even begin to express how many times I’ve shed tears this weekend. It’s hard to put into words just how much Beyoncé means to me. I truly, genuinely love her with all my heart. I chose to wear this camo outfit because I would go to battle for Beyoncé without hesitation.”
She went on to say, “I will always be Beyoncé’s biggest fan, that’s for sure. Now, back to the story. Both my mom and I have been devoted Beyoncé fans for as long as I can remember. I mean, my entire life! I used to think, ‘I want to rap alongside Beyoncé.’ And then, to actually have the chance to share the stage with the woman I adore, the woman who is the epitome of all women — being up there with Beyoncé, that just left me completely overwhelmed.”
Megan humorously added, “I mean, why wouldn’t I be twerking? I’m twerking alongside the queen, after all!” She continued, “So there I was, up on that stage, yet again! Night two, can you believe it? Oh my goodness, just look at Beyoncé slaying it! It’s really Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé sharing the stage. It’s like, what is even happening in this world?”
In addition to Megan’s narration, the musician also included a touching caption in her post, stating, “Hey, everyone! I’ve been shedding tears of joy all weekend, and my lace front has been through it, lol. I will never stop talking about this incredible moment! I’ve been a devoted fan of @beyonce my entire life, and this means the world to me!!! I love you, Queen Bey 👑🐝. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything 💙💙💙.”
Video footage capturing Megan’s unexpected performance began circulating on X (formerly known as Twitter). In the clip, Beyoncé was seen expressing her love for the rapper with the words, “I love you, queen,” to which Megan responded with, “I love you, Beyoncé.”
Prior to this surprise appearance, the Houston Hottie was originally scheduled to perform in New York City at the Global Citizen Festival over the weekend. However, on September 10, the festival announced on X that the “WAP” rapper had to withdraw from the event “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.” Page Six reported that Megan decided to drop out of the N.Y.C. music festival lineup once Beyoncé extended the invitation for her to join the performance in Texas.
