Miley Cyrus Gives Paul Rudd a Shout-Out and Urges Crowd to Sing Along While Performing ‘Flowers’ During SNL 50th Concert

The singer of Flowers is well-acquainted with performing for SNL audiences.
Miley Cyrus commanded the stage and engaged the crowd during her performance at SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.
The three-time Grammy winner took the spotlight at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Friday, Feb. 14, delivering a lively set early in the multi-hour celebration. She performed Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love alongside Brittany Howard and later sang her Grammy-winning hit, Flowers.
True to form, Cyrus kept the audience entertained with her signature wit, even playfully addressing actor Paul Rudd mid-chorus of Flowers. “I love you, Paul Rudd,” she called out, prompting the camera to capture his touched reaction.
At another moment, she playfully teased the celebrity-filled crowd, saying, “Are y’all doing that Grammys thing where you guys are famous and s— and don’t sing along? Excuse my language.”
At 32, Cyrus is well-versed in performing for SNL audiences. The Hannah Montana star first hosted the show in March 2011 and later returned in October 2013 and October 2015, taking on both hosting and musical guest roles.
The Flowers singer has also appeared as a musical guest on SNL in 2017, 2018 alongside Mark Ronson, 2020, and 2021. Additionally, Cyrus made a cameo in 2021 during Billie Eilish’s hosting stint, appearing in the skit Christmas Cards.
Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the concert special showcased performances from Arcade Fire, the Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, David Byrne, and Dave Grohl.
The star-studded lineup also included Eddie Vedder, Jack White, Jelly Roll, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, DEVO, Mumford & Sons, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The B-52s, and The Roots.
