Niall Horan has caught wind of Love Island contestant Zacharias Georgiou’s unique flirting method — and his reaction was far from serious approval.
The former One Direction member, 32, responded after Zach revealed that he often brings up his love for the famous boy band as a way to start conversations with women.
In a June 17 TikTok shared by iHeartCanada, Horan joked, “God almighty, I hope that works for him,” adding that it was all he could really say about the strategy.
Zach, 26, introduced himself on the popular dating show by sharing his longtime admiration for One Direction and admitted that he frequently uses the group as a topic when flirting. He also revealed that Zayn Malik is his favorite member, ranking him above Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and the late Liam Payne.
Zach explained that mentioning One Direction usually gets a positive reaction, saying he always brings them up because “it works.” However, he insisted his fandom is genuine and not just a dating tactic, adding that people are often surprised when he starts sharing detailed knowledge about the group.
Beyond his boy band obsession, Zach — who also enjoys superheroes and comic books — said he hopes to find a serious relationship after being single for more than three years. He shared that his previous relationship lasted four years but eventually ended when the feelings faded.
When describing his ideal partner, Zach said he wants someone who is fun and easygoing, but he has one important requirement: his future girlfriend must love his cat. He joked that anyone who doesn’t might immediately be rejected.
