The singer says the treat reminds her of her childhood and brings back memories from her elementary school years.
Olivia Rodrigo has a nostalgic food favorite — and it might just remind you of your childhood lunchbox days.
During her appearance on the May 15 episode of Vogue’s “In the Bag” video series, where stars give fans a peek inside their handbags, the “Bad Idea Right?” singer showcased a vintage cheetah-print Fendi bag. Among its contents, she revealed a quirky essential: cheese.
Rodrigo shared that she likes to keep cheese handy wherever she goes, and on this occasion, she had a small Babybel cheese tucked inside her designer bag. She enthusiastically expressed her fondness for the snack.
“I’m a big fan of all kinds of cheese,” Rodrigo shared in the video. “My friends always tease me about it, especially when it comes to this one—they say it feels very much like a kid’s snack. But I can’t help it, I’m obsessed with Babybel.”
She went on to say that she not only enjoys eating the cheese but also has fun molding the wax into little sculptures. “They’re super easy to carry around, which makes them even better,” she added.
Rodrigo also mentioned that the tiny wax figures she made from Babybel became a way for her to trade little gifts with friends, making the snack both a playful activity and a convenient, protein-rich treat.
“We used to swap the little figures we crafted from the red wax coating,” the 22-year-old recalled. “I honestly can’t even remember what we made, but we must’ve been pretty imaginative because that wax isn’t exactly easy to work with. I still make sure to have one on hand at all times.”
Aside from her go-to snack, Rodrigo’s bag also held a variety of more typical items, such as a hat, Bluetooth over-ear headphones, a Lâncome Juicy Tube lip gloss clipped to her keys, a deck of playing cards, a tea bag, a journal, sunglasses, and various makeup essentials.
Rodrigo’s cheetah-print Fendi isn’t the only standout accessory she’s been spotted with lately. On April 25, while out and about in New York City, the singer carried Chanel’s black suede “Nubuck Natural” Beauty Tote Bag, a vintage piece from 2012.
She kept her outfit understated, pairing the classic bag with a sleeveless black top, khaki trousers, and black-and-white Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low-top sneakers.
A day earlier, on April 24, Rodrigo went with a more contemporary handbag for the Planned Parenthood Gala, where she was honored with the 2025 Catalyst of Change award. She was recognized for her advocacy on reproductive rights and her “Fund 4 Good” initiative, launched during her Guts tour to support local abortion funds.
