In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, Feb. 26, Rihanna was seen heading to a recording studio in the early hours of the morning.

Rihanna is sacrificing sleep to keep up with both her career and motherhood.
On Thursday, Feb. 26, the “Umbrella” hitmaker, 38, shared an Instagram video showing what a typical day — and night — looks like for her, while also hinting at possible new music by revealing she’s been spending time in the studio.
The time-stamped clip began shortly after 9 p.m., when Rihanna arrived for a meeting related to her fashion label Savage X Fenty. After greeting colleagues, she reviewed design ideas, inspected fabric samples, and approved materials. As CHIC’s “Le Freak” played, she also signed copies of her albums Loud, Music of the Sun, and Good Girl Gone Bad.
During the meeting — which stretched until nearly 2 a.m. — she mentioned she still had more to do. She explained that she needed to head to the studio afterward and later make a Mardi Gras costume for her son, joking that it had been her longest day.
Rihanna shares three children with A$AP Rocky: sons Riot and RZA, along with their daughter Rocki, who was born in September.
By around 2:30 a.m., she was already working in the studio, though she muted the video’s sound so fans wouldn’t hear the music she was creating. She hasn’t released a studio album since ANTI in 2016, while her most recent track, “Friend of Mine,” came out in 2025 for the The Smurfs soundtrack.
Her studio update quickly excited fans, many of whom flooded the comments with hopes that a ninth album is on the way.
Despite her late night, Rihanna revealed she still hadn’t slept by 7 a.m., when she switched to “mom duties.” She worked on her son’s Mardi Gras outfit, decorating an umbrella with sequins and green feathers and adding details to denim pants. As Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman” played, she later carried Riot outside wearing the finished costume around 8:30 a.m.
