Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s latest single carries a romantic touch, making its steamy music video a fitting companion.
On Friday, March 14, the engaged couple — who announced their engagement in December 2024 — released their newest track, “Sunset Blvd,” from their upcoming joint album I Said I Love You First, alongside a vintage-inspired video.
The release follows Gomez’s recent Instagram post where she shared their “first official photo” together and revealed details about the single’s inspiration.
“Our first date was on Sunset Blvd, and it’s also the title of our next song together 🖤 Sunset Blvd out March 14 with @itsbennyblanco,” she captioned the post, which featured a black-and-white picture of the pair cozily wrapped in a blanket.
The music video opens with nostalgic shots of Los Angeles’ iconic Sunset Boulevard. Gomez, dressed in lingerie, appears lost in thought as she gazes out a rain-soaked window, seemingly daydreaming about Blanco.
In the sultry track, the Emilia Pérez actress seductively sings, “I can’t wait to hold it, hold that / big big hard heart.”
The chorus of the track includes the lyrics, “With open arms / holding you naked / middle of Sunset Boulevard,” while the verse continues, “Feels so good it hurts / but you fill up what’s broken / woman of few words / but for you I keep my mouth wide open,” as Blanco joins Gomez in the bedroom where she’s standing.
In the bridge, Gomez seductively sings, “I just wanna touch it, touch it / try your hardest not to bust it / gimme gimme how I love your big, big heart,” while sensually moving on a bed.
Blanco appears several times throughout the provocative video, including in a playful miniature form, which ends with Gomez seemingly swallowing him in one bite.
Earlier this week, the couple revisited Jitlada Thai Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard, the spot where they had their first date. They recreated the shrimp curry dish they enjoyed that night and shared the heartwarming moment on Instagram on Monday.
The couple revealed their upcoming album, I Said I Love You First, last month. So far, they’ve released two other singles from the project: “Scared of Loving You” and “Call Me When You Break Up” featuring Gracie Abrams.
