On Tuesday, July 22, the Only Murders in the Building actress took to Instagram to unveil the launch of the Rare Impact Fund’s Giving Circle, a new initiative created in collaboration with Dollar Donation Club.
As noted by PEOPLE, the Giving Circle was designed to “democratize giving and foster purpose-driven community,” enabling individuals to combine their contributions to support organizations engaged in transformative work.
The announcement also marked a special occasion: Gomez’s 33rd birthday. To celebrate, she posted a photo of herself holding a green, heart-shaped cake topped with pickle-shaped candles—a quirky nod to her all-time favorite snack.
It’s no secret that Selena Gomez has a serious love for pickles — and she’s not shy about it.
In fact, she’s so devoted to the tangy snack that she even has a go-to brand. Back in February 2024, her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, showed just how much he embraces her obsession by getting the logo of her favorite pickles, Best Maid Pickles, painted on his toenails.
That same month, Blanco went all out for Valentine’s Day by having Best Maid Pickles shipped from Texas to California. His plan? To fry them up and impress Gomez — a gesture he documented on TikTok, joking that his goal was to “fry pickles and get laid.” In the video, he even revealed his personal twist on the Southern classic: adding Sprite to the batter.
Clearly, Blanco is all in when it comes to Gomez’s pickle passion. He’s even worked them into his signature food experiments. While browsing food videos, he stumbled upon a breadless “sandwich” made with cheese, a pickle slice, balsamic vinegar, and basil, all layered between slices of watermelon. Naturally, he had to recreate it — and got Gomez to try it, too.
“I don’t want to. I’m not going to like this,” she said, eyeing the unconventional combo. But then she added with a laugh, “But I love pickles.”
