“The End of an Era,” the pop superstar’s six-episode documentary series, is set to debut on Disney+ on December 12.
Taylor Swift had been envisioning the Eras Tour long before it became a reality.
In the newly released trailer for her docuseries The End of an Era (shared on Thursday, Nov. 13), the global pop icon opens up about when the concept first took shape.
“I started imagining The Eras Tour around two years before it actually kicked off,” says Swift, 35, in the clip.
She goes on to explain, “I wanted to go above and beyond for the fans — to give them more songs than they expected and to challenge myself as much as possible. My biggest goal was to deliver something that would truly surprise them.”
Swift shared that the show fostered “a shared connection among 70,000 people at once,” calling the experience uniquely meaningful.
On Nov. 13, she celebrated the release of the trailer with an Instagram post, writing, “I honestly can’t imagine a better way to (almost) ring in my birthday than revisiting the Eras Tour with all of you. This time, we’re heading backstage. The End of an Era, a six-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries, arrives on @disneyplus starting Dec. 12 🫶,” wrote the 35-year-old singer.
Back on Oct. 13, news broke that the “Elizabeth Taylor” artist would debut two projects on Disney+ connected to her Eras Tour.
According to a press release, she introduced her six-episode documentary series The End of an Era, which explores “the creation, cultural footprint, and behind-the-scenes operations that built the phenomenon of the Eras Tour.”
The series also promises “a personal glimpse into Taylor’s world as her tour dominated headlines and captivated fans globally.”
Swift additionally revealed Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a filmed version of her concluding performance on Dec. 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada.
This announcement arrived shortly after the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which dropped on Oct. 3.
Both Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show and the first two installments of The End of an Era will hit Disney+ on Dec. 12, with two new episodes of the docuseries rolling out each week after.
