The country musicians exchanged vows on October 6, 1996, following their joint tour performances.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are commemorating their 27th wedding anniversary!
McGraw, aged 56, took to Instagram on Friday to express his gratitude to Hill, aged 55, for the wonderful years they’ve shared. He initiated his post by sharing their very first photo together, capturing the moment when they first met in the spring of 1994. In the snapshot, Hill had her hair in a curly updo, and McGraw sported a smile beneath his cowboy hat. To showcase their journey over the years, McGraw added a more recent black-and-white photo.
In his caption, McGraw wrote, “This is the very first picture ever taken of us, the very first time we ever met back in spring of 1994. This was backstage of the ‘New Faces’ show at the Country Radio Seminar……I fell for you in an instant!”
He continued, “Today is our 27th wedding anniversary, and I fall for you every day, every time you walk into the room, every time I see you reflected in the smiles of our three beautiful daughters. I just keep falling and always will. Happy anniversary, my love! @faithhill.”
McGraw and Hill’s initial encounter occurred at the Country Radio Seminar showcase for emerging talents in Nashville in 1994. During this period, McGraw, known for “Highway Don’t Care,” was in a relationship with Kristine Donahue, while Hill was engaged to Scott Hendricks.
Following the conclusion of their respective relationships, McGraw and Hill embarked on a romantic relationship. Their journey culminated in marriage on October 6, 1996, immediately after performing together on their Spontaneous Combustion tour, where Hill served as the opening act.
Reflecting on that time, McGraw shared with PEOPLE, “We were young and silly and infatuated with each other while on tour in 1996.”
Since their wedding day, these musicians have shared numerous memorable moments, including the joy of raising their three daughters: Gracie, aged 26, Maggie, aged 24, and Audrey, aged 21.
While McGraw and Hill have accomplished much in their music careers, it’s evident that their proudest achievement is being parents. McGraw expressed this sentiment to PEOPLE in 2021, saying, “It’s inspiring to me to watch them go out on their own and pursue their passions. We’ve nurtured three strong, independent, and determined young women. What I’m most thankful for is how grounded and respectful they are, both to themselves and others. It makes me believe that we’ve done a pretty good job, particularly Mom.”
To mark their 26th wedding anniversary in October of the previous year, McGraw took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt slideshow video. The video featured a collection of photos and video clips showcasing moments with Hill over the years, accompanied by a touching message in the caption.
Set to the backdrop of the iconic country superstars’ 2007 duet, “I Need You,” from McGraw’s Let It Go album, the 55-year-old musician expressed his feelings in the caption: “Wow, 26 years! Happy anniversary to my girl!! I love you baby @faithhill.”
The post drew comments from numerous famous friends of the couple, with Rita Wilson, who co-stars with McGraw and Hill in 1883, offering her congratulations: “Happy Anniversary lovebirds!!!!💕💋💕.” Gwyneth Paltrow also joined in, sharing her sentiment with “Awwwwwwwwww❤️❤️.”
