Troye Sivan Says His Childhood Self Would Be ‘Proud’ of Liberated New Album: ‘It Really Is for Him’

Many adult life experiences led Troye Sivan to make his liberated new album Something to Give Each Other — and for that he’s grateful.

“I think I’m going to look back on this album and this time in my life with such fondness,” Sivan tells PEOPLE at Spotify’s early listening party for the LP – which dropped Friday — in partnership with its GLOW initiative at Outer Heaven in New York City.

Since the Australian pop star officially hit the music scene in 2014, listeners have learned about his love life and emotions through his albums Blue Neighborhood and Bloom. But the new, 10-track record is easily his most personal, providing insight on a series of sexual encounters Sivan partook in following the end of his last long-term relationship.
